“Good Deeds Get Noticed”
Nominate your school to receive a free mini carnival!
The Carnival Party is proud to announce their 2010 “Good Deeds Get Noticed” program for Rhode Island schools and community based organizations. Individuals are encouraged to nominate their preschool, elementary school or other similar non- profit organization to receive a free mini carnival or mini golf party from The Carnival Party in recognition of the good deeds they have done. This year The Carnival Party will donate up to twenty free events to local schools and organizations.
The “Good Deeds Get Noticed” program celebrates the good deeds kids are doing in the community as they make a difference in the world we live in. “Good Deeds” can be as big or small as those who do them: collecting food for local food pantries, donating coats to local shelters, raising money for the victims of Haiti. The possibilities for good deeds are endless; no good deed is too small, every little bit makes a difference.
The Carnival Party is a children’s entertainment business located in Rhode Island. They provide mini carnivals and portable mini golf courses to schools, camps and birthday parties throughout RI, CT and MA. This year they will donate up to twenty mini carnival or mini golf parties to selected schools in Rhode Island. All 2010 “Good Deeds Get Noticed” nominations will receive a certificate of recognition to proudly display in their school.
“We work with schools often for events and have seen how kids are making a difference in their community. This program was designed as a way to recognize and support those who are making a difference. It honors the good deeds students do and celebrates the humanitarianism efforts by the children and schools of our community,” says Lori Alicchio-Wilson of The Carnival Party. “We believe good things should happen to those who do good deeds.”
Those interested in nominating their school or community organization for the 2010 “Good Deeds Get Noticed” program are asked to write a brief paragraph introducing their school and detailing the good deeds students have been involved with in the past year. - Instead of charging admission to family events, we collect canned goods throughout the school year at all events to donate to local food banks. In the past year we donated over 785 cans of food to the Jonny Cake Center.
- In December, all students in our entire school sent happy New Year cards and thank you notes to service men stationed in Iraq to let them know we were thinking of them and appreciate all that they do to keep our county safe.
- We host a monthly P.J. Day in which students bring $1 to participate. We donate that money to the local animal shelter for food and supplies to help care for our animal friends. In the past year, we have donated over $823 to the Anywhere Animal Shelter. Those funds were used to purchase food and medicine for sick dogs and cats.
- First Graders and their teachers organized a coat drive for the local women’s shelter so that children in need could have something warm to wear this winter. We donated 25 children’s coats and 6 adult coats.
- The entire school worked together and ran a toy drive in conjunction wtth Toys for Tots. Our students donated and then wrapped over 46 Holiday Gifts for kids in our community.
